Deep Colors Are Back

After years of soft whites, beige, and quiet neutrals, interiors are becoming richer, warmer, and much more expressive.

Deep brown, burgundy, olive green, aubergine, ochre, and charcoal are moving into living rooms, bedrooms, and statement walls.

Benjamin Moore’s 2026 Color of the Year, Silhouette AF-655, combines rich espresso brown with subtle charcoal tones a perfect example of this new sophisticated direction.

The idea is not to make every room dark. Instead, designers are using deeper colors to create contrast, warmth,

and personality.
